Spanish painted frog (Discoglossus jeanneae Busack 1986)
March 25 2010

Today I discovered - hidden underneath a bird bathing bowl - a new inhabitant of the biotope! This little cute guy is a Spanish painted frog. Lets see if I'll be able to make better photos in the future. Anyway I was so happy to see one of this species here in the biotope!

Spanish painted frogs belong to the "lower developed". In contrary to the "higher developed" they still got ribs and their tongue is roundish thick and cannot, as the "higher developed" jerk at making prey.
