And now to the troop of sanderlings. How these lively birds enthralled me. And to be able to see them from that close, so to say being in the middle of them, was a real joy!

With lightening speed these little guys picked on the river bank:

But some also had discovered the dead fish on the beach and ...

... were picking it excitedly:

Directly in front of my nose this little sanderling was picking for tidbits. If one of its kind came closer the fish owners plumage furiously was bristled and angrily the unwanted guest was chased away. That went always that quickly that I was not able for a single time to make a photo. But I had to laugh loudly, because it looked so cute and funny when these little guys became so furious!

Against at the river bank dominated sunshine and roses between those little waders:

For hours I was sitting in the sand and just ...

... enjoying to watch these sweet birds and to see, that they were not scared at all from me. This was just superb!!!
