Guadalhorce-Mouth near Málaga

Dear reader!

Here is a short photo report from "Guadalhorce Diary"

While a group of Herons is passing by at a leisurely pace

this Gull-billed Tern is rather in a hurry:

The Gadwall Duck couple in comparison keeps calm and

this group of White-headed Ducks spent this windy day close together:

Well, who comes dashing by

Aha, from above this guy looks like that. This will help to identify:

Just like the young Ruff would devine our doubts, he showed himself

also from all sides!

The water level is still rather high, so only the longlegged waders like Pied Avocets and Stilts have a chance at the moment at the Guadalhorce:

And despite the Stilts are behaving very sociable, the

.. breeding territories are closely watched:

How much I am looking forward to the breeding season and to the birds with eight legs!
