La Cañada de los Pájaros

These spring meadows! Just beautiful!

And this is the stork who had his nest right in front of our sleeping room and whose cheerful clattering escorted us all the time. But the photo was made through a mosquito-net. Well those are necessary at the Marismas! More about that later in the report about Dehesa de Abajo

After thirst was satisfied …

… nesting material is eagerly transported:

"Haha, I got a terrific branch!"

Shortly before sunset Mr. Crowned crane decides that it is time to fly a round:

Two common cranes join enthralled and all three are training for formation flights:

At this time also the night herons are coming out of their hideouts to go for prey. Here a young night heron and …

… here an adult heron:

The crown crane in the meantime has exercised his wings enough and has landed again in Cañada de los Pájaros this outstanding bird paradise:

Such a terrific time we spent there! And certainly it was not our last visit!
